Jason Barnard Presents the Universal 3 Tier Strategy to E-E-A-T in the AI Era at MarketingProfs “XEO and the Future of Search” - 30 January 2026

Jason Barnard, CEO and founder of Kalicube, presented a strategic framework for implementing Google’s Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (E E A T) principles in the AI era during the MarketingProfs and Search Engine Journal online event “XEO and the Future of Search.”

The presentation introduced a structured three tier strategy that helps brands build credibility and machine understanding across search engines and AI assistants as the search ecosystem shifts from traditional ranking systems to AI driven answer engines.

The framework demonstrates how brands can structure their digital presence so that machines consistently recognise them as trustworthy and authoritative entities.

The Universal 3 Tier Strategy for E-E-A-T

During the session, Jason Barnard presented a structured approach to E E A T, moving beyond vague interpretations of it as a ranking factor and positioning it as a strategic framework for building credibility in search and AI.

He explained that the three tier model focuses on creating clear, consistent signals that machines can interpret and verify across the web. By structuring these signals effectively, brands enable search engines and AI systems to understand who they are, what they offer, and why they deserve trust.

This approach aligns with the shift toward entity based search, where algorithms rely on corroborated information from multiple sources to evaluate authority and credibility.

Jason positioned E E A T as the credibility layer that determines which brands AI assistive engines recommend, including platforms such as Google, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. Rather than building authority from scratch, he emphasised that most organisations already possess valuable credibility signals and need to identify, structure, and leverage them effectively.

He introduced a practical framework supported by The Kalicube Process and expanded the model by adding Notability and Transparency, reinforcing how machines assess trust beyond traditional E E A T signals.

Key strategic takeaways

Jason provided actionable steps that organisations can implement immediately:

  • Leverage existing equity by identifying and amplifying credibility signals already present across the web
  • Take control of the narrative by establishing a clear Entity Home and applying a Claim, Frame, Prove approach
  • Build algorithmic advocacy by educating AI systems to confidently recommend the brand as the best solution in its market

This shift reflects the evolution from search engines that present options to assistive engines that make decisions on behalf of users.

Event Context: XEO and the Future of Search

The webinar “XEO and the Future of Search” introduced the concept of Cross Engine Optimization (XEO), which sits at the intersection of SEO, generative engine optimisation, and AI search strategies.

Organised by MarketingProfs in collaboration with Search Engine Journal, the free online event brought together leading experts to explore how brands can adapt to the changing search landscape and remain visible across both search engines and AI powered platforms.

Why E E A T Matters in the AI Era

As generative AI and assistive agents become increasingly integrated into search experiences, the ability of machines to clearly understand and trust a brand becomes critical.

Traditional SEO focused primarily on ranking web pages. However, AI driven systems increasingly evaluate entities and their reputations across multiple sources before recommending or selecting them.

Jason Barnard emphasised that organisations must move beyond page level optimisation and focus on building a consistent and verifiable digital identity across the web.

This approach ensures that search engines, knowledge graphs, and AI assistants can confidently interpret and recommend a brand when responding to user queries.
