Jason Barnard: Every time I see one of these machines hallucinating, I just go in and change the information online to make it clearer so they can understand. And that’s the key, is keep an eye
on what they’re getting wrong, look at why they’re getting it wrong and correct the source
or add additional corroboration that ensures it gets it right next time. And the only problem that we have with that is the cycle of updates is very slow. So you can wait three months,
six months for something to update. So you got to be patient as well. But if you don’t do that,
they’ll just keep getting it wrong.
And there’s another great point. Once they start getting it wrong, they’re going to convince themselves that what they are saying is right. And the more they convince themselves of that by feeding themselves their own data and being never been corrected, the worse it’s going to get and the harder it will be to correct. So I personally think we should all be very, very worried about the future and that now is the time to correct things. Because if you’ve got the foundational information correct right now, the rest is going to be relatively easy.
And if you get it wrong now, or if the machines are getting it wrong now, it’s going to snowball.
And when it snowballs, it’s going to get so difficult, so difficult to reel it all back in. And my take on that as well, if we talk about being the leader in your market, the best representation of your market as a corporation or a person, once it’s misunderstood, you’ve lost the game.
