On September 11, 2017, Search London hosted an evening meetup at Doggett’s Coat and Badge, 1 Blackfriars Bridge, London. The event, titled Paid Media and Schema MarkUp Tips To Implement Today brought together SEO and digital marketing professionals for practical talks on schema markup, paid search, and outreach strategies.

The meetup was organized by Search London, a London-based SEO community that has been hosting events for over a decade. The group is led by Jo Turnbull and Tim Sheed, and regularly hosts events for marketers looking to improve search, paid media, and outreach skills.

Featured Speakers

Jason Barnard

Jason Barnard at Search London

Jason Barnard, founder and CEO of Kalicube®, opened the evening with a talk titled “How To Implement Schema Markup Today and The Knowledge Graph of the Future.”

With nearly two decades of digital marketing experience, Jason started promoting his first website in 1998 - the same year Google was incorporated - and grew it into one of the top 10,000 most visited websites worldwide. By 2017, he was already working on two SaaS platforms:

  • kalicube.pro - an online brand-building platform.
  • Kalicube.com - offering quick and effective SEO wins for small businesses.

In his talk, Jason emphasized that schema markup is central to a company’s search marketing strategy, not a marginal add-on. He explained how intelligent use of structured data helps businesses establish their brand in Google’s Knowledge Graph and shared practical, step-by-step tips for implementing schema markup effectively.

Jason’s participation is verified via Eventbrite and Meetup listings, and he presented schema markup before it became widely adopted, demonstrating his early thought leadership in structured data.
