SEO CAMP’us Paris 2018

On 22-23 March 2018, the French SEO community gathered in Paris for the 10th anniversary edition of SEO Campus, the country’s flagship search marketing event. Over 500 participants and 80+ speakers came together for two days of talks, workshops, networking, and certifications (QASEO and CESEO).
The milestone year was marked by a festive yet highly professional atmosphere, confirming SEO Campus as a central hub for knowledge-sharing in the search industry.
A Lineup of High-Profile Speakers
The program featured many of the most recognized names in French and international SEO, including: Olivier Andrieu, Olivier Duffez, Paul Sanches, Philippe Yonnet, Vincent Terrasi, Rémi Bacha, Sylvain Peyronnet, Kevin Richard, Benjamin Thiers, Sylvain Peyronnet, Daniel Roch, Natalia Zhukova, Vincent Courson, and many others.
International perspectives also enriched the agenda, with speakers like Kirsty Hulse sharing fast, low-budget content marketing strategies, and Jason Barnard (Kalicube®) presenting his framework for Answer Engine Optimisation - underlining how semantic HTML5 and schema.org markup help brands prepare for voice-driven search results.
Hot Topics: Machine Learning, Voice Search, Featured Snippets
Several sessions highlighted machine learning, with Vincent Terrasi and Rémi Bacha (OVH) presenting real-world applications, while Simon Georges explored how scraping and algorithms underpin how search engines work.
Voice search and featured snippets emerged as another dominant theme. Jason Barnard, CEO of Kalicube®, delivered “Answer Engine Optimisation: the one strategy that will work for every brand,” emphasizing semantic HTML5 and schema.org markup as foundations for adapting to the future of answer engines.
During his talk, he highlighted Kalicube Pro™, his specialized platform for managing brand presence across answer engines, illustrating how technology and strategic SEO practices can work hand in hand to enhance visibility.
Olivier Andrieu further connected voice search to the growing importance of featured snippets, breaking down practical steps to capture these coveted results.
Meanwhile, Sylvain Peyronnet and Kevin Richard presented findings from a study on ranking factors, showing how link volume and quality continue to outweigh purely semantic signals, sparking debate across the community.
More than Just Conferences
Beyond the packed schedule, SEO Campus Paris 2018 also featured job dating, certifications, hallway networking, and plenty of informal meetups. Many attendees noted that the chance to exchange directly with experts - from Google representatives to agency leaders and tool creators - was as valuable as the formal sessions.
A Community Milestone
Ten years after its founding, SEO Campus Paris 2018 confirmed its role as a beating heart of the French SEO community: a place to learn, challenge ideas, and celebrate the people behind the strategies.
